Welcome To Dublin!
Dear Friends and Colleagues
We are delighted to invite you to Ireland for the British Hypertension Society Annual Scientific Meeting which will take place from the 19th – 21st of September at the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire (Dunleary), which is seven miles south of Dublin on the stunning east coast.
The meeting will take place at the historic Royal Marine Hotel overlooking Dublin Bay. Dating back to 1828 and with a rich history, the hotel is situated in a seaside location, within easy reach of Dublin City Centre and the Wicklow Mountains. Travelling to and from the hotel is made easier by the Hotel’s proximity to the DART train line and Dun Laoghaire Ferry Port.
We are delighted to welcome participation in the meeting of colleagues from the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland, the Irish Cardiac Society and the Irish Heart Foundation and Council for High Blood Pressure. The meeting is open to all healthcare professionals with an interest in hypertension and is not only the most important forum in the calendar to exchange new ideas but is also a great networking opportunity in a convivial atmosphere.
Programme topics include: A review of Hypertension in the UK and Ireland, Lipids, ABPM, Research Network Workshop, Medicines Adherence, Clinical Trials, Open Abstracts, the Pickering Lecture presented by Professor Paul Whelton and talks from our Invited Speakers: Professor Calum MacRae, Professor Patrick Vallance and Professor Scott Wright.
The usual prizes will be awarded; two Young Investigators will be given the opportunity to present their work in either America or Australia in our reciprocal programme, The Nurses & AHP Award, the Poster Prize and we have a new award this year dedicated to Dr Robert Grayson whose family have funded the prize money through a generous donation.
We look forward to welcoming you to Ireland!
